Design heating, cooling and exhaust systems. Provide maintenance for
existing systems. Diagnose underperforming heating and cooling
systems and modify to provide a proper operating system. Fabricate
and install ductwork. Adjustment of air flow to provide the proper
amount of air in each area of your building. Fabrication of metal
specialties (galvanized, stainless steel, aluminum, pre-finished
materials). Heat-loss / heat-gain calculation (identifies the
correct heating and cooling equipment capacity). Exhaust systems.
Summer ventilation for warehouses and manufacturing facilities.
Review existing buildings on blue-prints for code compliance. Fire
damper inspection. Develop computerized drawings (CAD) of HVAC
systems. Replace old or outdated equipment. Review building
blue-prints or perform a building survey to identify the layout of
your duct systems. Design build or plan and spec projects Sensitive
to operating according to the needs of our customers.
Processes
Needs Analysis
At the beginning of your project, we will ask many questions to
identify what your needs are. We will ask questions about your
operations, what has worked well for you in the past, what has not
worked and the end results you need once the project is complete.
A load analysis will be performed to identify the equipment capacity
required for your building. The building's insulation, windows, the
number of people who occupy the space, lighting and building exhaust
will all be taken into consideration when sizing your "comfort
system".
Project Manuals
At the beginning of each project, we create a project manual for our
installation crew to use as a guide. The manual includes catalogue
cuts of each component to be installed, specifications on the
ductwork required, a list of equipment descriptions and areas served
by each, possible safety concerns and a detailed list of tasks to be
completed.
Pre Construction Review Meetings
A meeting is conducted with the lead technician, field
superintendent and the salesman before every project. During this
meeting the project manual is thoroughly reviewed.
All aspects of the project are reviewed to give the installers the
information they need to complete the project.
Post Project Inspections
The field superintendent will use the post-job checklist in the
project manual to inspect the project once it is complete. He will
be looking for unfinished tasks and left over materials and
equipment that may not have been removed from the job.
Maintenance and Operation Manuals
At the end of each project, a bound manual will be presented to you,
the customer. This manual will include the installation
instructions, parts lists, and the owner's guide to operating the
equipment.
Start Up Sheets
As part of the commissioning of your new equipment, we use a "start
up" form that asks for temperature readings, system pressures, and
electrical amp draw on each piece of equipment installed. Checking
that these numbers are within the required range ensures the
equipment is running correctly when we finish the project and gives
us a benchmark should problems occur in the future.
Record Drawings
Record drawings are available upon request. These drawing will
reflect the original project scope and any changes that are required
during the construction process.
Record Retention
Your project documents will be retained for a period of no less than
5 years from the date of completion. Should you need information or
drawings that were part of your project, we can, in most cases,
reproduce them for you.
Maintenance
Benefits of Maintenance
Most people have their car tuned up and the oil changed on a regular
basis to increase gas mileage and reduce costly repairs. The same
holds true for your heating and cooling systems. Here are some facts
from national studies of how having proper maintenance performed on
your heating and cooling system will increase your energy savings
and equipment reliability.
A dirty condenser coil can increase operating pressure from 50 PSI
to 100 PSI and will increase energy usage by 10% to 20%. An
improperly maintenance air conditioner can increase electrical cost
by up to 30%. An indoor cooling coil with 1/100th of an inch of dirt
will increase cooling bills by 5%. Properly performed maintenance to
your gas furnace can increase efficiency from 5% to 20%. A properly
trained service technician can check all safety controls and
operation of the equipment to find any potential safety or repair
problems. Service technicians say that having proper maintenance
performed could prevent 70% to 95% of all repairs they perform.
Heating and cooling equipment life can be extended by 20% to 30% by
having proper maintenance performed. You can count on lower utility
bills, longer life and reliability from your heating and cooling
system and safer operation by having your heating and cooling system
properly maintained. Standard can design a maintenance agreement
that will provide the level of service you need. Whether your
equipment requires monthly filter changes or just yearly clean and
checks, Standard Heating and Cooling can customize a maintenance
agreement for your business. We can also provide flexibility in
payment plans.
